What we keep
Sable is in development and this site does one thing: it takes an email address so we can tell you when it’s ready. What follows is the whole of what that involves.
Your email address
If you join the waitlist we store the address you typed, the time you sent it, and a random token that makes your unsubscribe link work. That’s the entire record. There is no name field, and we don’t ask what you already know, where you’re from, or why you’re here.
We will send you one email, when Sable is available. Not a newsletter, not a launch sequence, not a reminder that you signed up. If that turns out to be a promise we want to break, we’ll ask first.
What we don’t do
- No analytics, no tracking pixels, no session recording.
- No cookies. The site sets none at all, which is why there’s no banner.
- No advertising, and no sharing or selling of the list. Ever, and not to anyone.
- No embedded fonts, maps, videos, or share buttons that would report you to a third party.
The last one is why the page’s typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google’s. Loading them the usual way would tell Google the address of everyone who reads this page, which is a larger disclosure than anything else on the site.
Spam protection
So that a script can’t flood the list, the signup form counts recent attempts per connection. To do that it stores a one-way, salted hash of your IP address — never the address itself — for one hour, after which it’s deleted. It lives in a separate table from the waitlist, with nothing linking the two, so it can’t be used to work out who signed up from where.
Who else sees it
The site and its database are hosted on Cloudflare, who necessarily handle the traffic in order to serve the page. When there’s something to send, we’ll use an email provider to send it, and we’ll name them here before we do. Nobody else.
Leaving
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it works in one click with nothing to fill in. You can also write to hello@sablelearn.app and ask us to remove you, or to tell you what we hold — it’s the four things at the top of this page, but ask and we’ll show you.
Unsubscribing marks your address as gone and stops all mail. We keep the row itself so that a later signup doesn’t quietly undo your decision. If you’d rather it were erased outright, say so and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it in the same breath. There’s no version history to consult yet because there has only ever been this one.
